For the Record
O Positive // The Record
Once upon a time, (a few years ago), Victoria Cyr joined creative forces with German-born composer/producer and groove master extraordinairre, Steven Last. From the beginning, he understood exactly how to orchestrate around her words (and voice), and helped transform each of her poem’s into music. Ten songs later, they’ve completed their first record, O Positive (O+) and look forward to live performance fusing multimedia, dance and theater.
Several of the songs from the record (including the singles Memphis and Wake Up To Dreaming) have been regularly featured on KLOS 95.5 FM, Jim Ladd’s show “Headsets” in Los Angeles.
PS. Somehow in the making of this story, a character named Orla evolved. It’s not that every song is from her perspective, but her desire to “wake up” and remember who she is, (revealed in the first track), is one of the central themes of the record. She is, therefore, ever-present and lives through the music. Thus, moving forward, it is very likely that Orla will make an appearance at some
point, and possibly add commentary to O Positive (O+) where needed, in ways that are often seen in drama.

in the beginning...
Orla’s on a mission
like most of us. she understands
on many levels. and sometimes it eludes her,
but she keeps dreaming. and waking. not sure
ofen which is which. but aware of her desire
to remember who she is. was before
she had a name. or form. but always was
that which defines her
truth, her essence
which never dies.
most of all all, she wants to understand love
and be full
of compassion. and let go
of fear,
realize
how everything and everyone
is connected.
and ultimately, All One
part of the Light.
Orla loves...
to dance
to the beat - the beat - the beat
and all ways wants to.
